- include your page in your RSS feed and on your Blog It! page
- add the Socialize It! button bar to your page
- include your footer on this page

Do You Want To Password-Protect This Page?
- Select Yes to password-protect this page.
- Enter the 6-8 character alphanumeric combination (no dots or spaces) that your visitor must enter correctly to access this page.
You can use this feature for a variety of reasons....
1) Protect e-goods and downloadable files from unauthorized access.
2) Increase the perceived value of certain offerings (i.e., bonus articles/downloads).
3) Protect specialized content you may wish to sell to your audience.
4) Add incentive -- "Sign up for my newsletter and receive special access to my subscribers-only content articles."
5) Create a hiding area for information you want to reserve for certain people. Let's say you're a real estate agent, and you have 3 really special properties that you don't want competitors to know about. Tuck them on this page, then password-protect it. Give the password only to excellent prospective customers.
Tips
- Do not build pages around your most popular keywords and hide them behind password-protected pages. That limits their traffic-generation and monetization potential.
- Pick a random combination of letters and numbers so that your password is not easily guessed by your visitor.
- Provide no direct links to the password-protected page(s) on your site. Ask interested visitors to use a contact form. Your reply includes the necessary URL.
- To prevent unauthorized access to these page(s), change your password often, and notify your subscribers of the change.
- Keep track of all your passwords for all your pages, and strongly urge your visitors to do the same.
- Use this feature sparingly. Otherwise, it may irritate your visitors, if they need to contact you for a password every time they want to read an article.
- Very high-value products or extremely sensitive information, especially if you reach a technically savvy audience, requires a more extensive level of protection.

Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) has a security setting the prevents scripted pages from opening. The information bar will open, asking the user if s/he wants to allow the scripted window, but nothing happens when the window is allowed to open. So you should include instructions in any e-mail or leading page on how to open the protected page in IE7.
- Advise them that clicking the information bar will not allow the scripted window.
- Advise them to go to Tools > Internet Options > Security, then select the custom level option and enable Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows.
Include This Page in Your RSS Feed/Blog It! Page?
If you have not yet set up RSS/Blog It! on your site, you will not see this option on the Edit Your TIER 2 or 3 Page tool page. Full details are available in the Help & Strategies for RSS/Blog It!.
- Make sure that you've created an RSS feed first.
- Select Yes to add this page to your RSS feed and Blog It! page.
- Select No if you do not want this page added.
For now, though, here's a short summary...
- RSS/Blog It! converts your most recently created or modified Web pages into "items" and publishes an RSS feed. That, in itself, is enough to distribute your content to folks around the world.
- You can take your content distribution to the next level by turning that RSS feed into a visible TIER 2 Web page on your site. We call this "site-blogging."
RSS/Blog It! leverages your time and efforts. It's a convenient way to attract new visitors to your site. It also makes it easier for return visitors to find your most recent content additions.
Include the Socialize It! Button Bar on This Page?
- Select Yes to add the Socialize It! button bar on this page.
- Select No to leave it off.
The Socialize It! button bar allows you to easily add buttons for several social sites (bookmarking and networking). This makes it very easy for your visitors to share the page with others at their favorite social site. The buttons include either Facebook and Twitter, or...
- Technorati
- StumbleUpon
- Delicious
- Yahoo! Buzz
If you have not yet activated Socialize It!, please do so before continuing. Go to the "All Pages" section of Site Central and click on the Socialize It! button. Activate Socialize It! and then come back here when you're ready.
If you want to display the six buttons on this page, click Yes.
Tip
- You can override your global Socialize It! setting for this specific page, if you wish. Your other pages will not be affected.
Include Your Footer on This Page?
- Select Yes to place your footer on this page.
- Select No to leave it off.
Please note... If you have not yet used FooterBuilder to set up a site-wide footer (and you want one), please do so before continuing. Go to the "All Pages" section of Site Central and click on the Footer button. Set up your footer, then come back here when you're ready.
Tips
- You can override your global Footer setting for this specific page, if you wish. Your other pages will not be affected.
- Choosing "Yes" will add your footer underneath your last block on this page.
Choose a Right Column
- Choose a right column from the menu.
- Click on Build It! to rebuild the page with the right column.
Only use the Choose a Right Column option if you selected the 3 column design for your template in the Look and Feel Selector. Otherwise, your right column will extend past your top logo image.
You can change which right column appears on your page by clicking on the menu and selecting the column you want.
The default column (if you created one with that name) will be used if you don't select another column. If you didn't create a default column, and don't select another one here, then the right column will have no content in it.
