Create Message

Creating a new email with SBI! Webmail is a simple process. Let's cover each point on the Create Message page...

From

Select an Email Account from this drop-down menu. When you send your email, this will be your From address for that email.

The "From" drop-down menu is composed of the email accounts that you create in the "Create New Accounts" section of Email Account Management in SVBI!.

You choose which email accounts to include in this drop-down menu at the time you create your email accounts. To modify this drop-down, go to the "Email Account Management" section of SVBI!.

Address Book

You can add contacts to an Address Book. If your intended recipient has already been entered into your Address Book, click on his/her name and then click the To button.

When you click on the To, Cc, or Bcc button, the page refreshes to show your recipient's name in the To, Cc, or Bcc text box.

Tip

To, Cc, Bcc

You can also manually enter the email address of your intended recipient into the To, Cc, or Bcc text box. Simply type (or copy-and-paste) the correct address into the appropriate box(es)....

Please note the pair of Whitelist radio buttons to the right of the To, the Cc and the Bcc. Use them to manage your Whitelist. Each set of radio buttons is associated with the address that you enter in the same line (i.e., the To, Cc and Bcc fields).

"Add/Keep" either adds or keeps the corresponding email address of each recipient on your whiteList. This allows each respective recipient to reply to you without getting blasted by SVBI! (avoiding whitelist.sitesell.com). This is the default selection because you are, after all, mailing him or her. Click on the Whitelist Control online help (on the "Create Message" page) for more information.

Note

You can turn off Whitelist-filtering. If you do turn it off (not generally recommended), Spam 'n Virus Blast It! continues to automatically update your Whitelist (e.g., adding addresses collected through newsletter subscriptions, Form Build It!, etc.).

When you decide to turn Whitelist-filtering back on, all you have to do is export the "Address Book" from your client-side email software and upload that list of personal and business contact addresses to your Whitelist.

Subject

Enter the subject of your email here. The recipient(s) sees this first, so make it good. This is especially necessary if you're mailing to an important person with whom you are trying to do business.

Message

Enter your message here. It's best to compose it in a text editor (e.g., NotePad for Windows, or TextEdit for a Mac), hard-wrap to 60 characters wide (for easy reading), and then simply copy-and-paste your message into this box.

Note: HTML is not supported. Text only.

"0 Attachments" button

The "0" indicates that there are no attachments on the current email. Click this button to add an attachment to your email.

Follow the usual Browse and Upload process, then click on the Preview and Return button to return and finish creating the rest of your email.

Once you've added an attachment to your email, this button will be updated to reflect this: 1 Attachment. Click the button again if you wish to add additional attachments.

Tip

Send attachments only to well-known and trusted contacts, as it's common for attachments to contain viruses. Also let them know beforehand that you're sending an attachment (since viruses commonly mail to people's entire Outlook Address Book).

As for you... if you receive an attachment, don't open it unless you're specifically expecting an attachment from that person. It will serve you well.

Preserve a copy of the message in the Sent folder

Leave this action checked to ensure you have a "receipt" of every email sent. Once it's in the Sent folder, you can either file it away (for possible future reference), or leave it there as a reminder to follow-up on an important issue.
