MailOut Manager
With MailOut Manager, you can build a newsletter template, publish issues immediately or at future dates and times that you select, and view statistics about your newsletter.
You can also customize automated messages that your readers will see, as well as add subscribers to your list manually and change or unsubscribe email addresses.
All SBIers can email to one opt-in list. This list is composed of people who subscribe using the opt-in form on your site.
If you need to have more than one list, you can connect a free Mailchimp account or fee-based AWeber account to Solo Build It! through Connected Services, found in Site Central.

Name of Newsletter
In the gray bar, you'll see the name you gave to your newsletter the first time you accessed MailOut Manager.
Create and Send Newsletter
Create and Send Newsletter is where you create each issue of your newsletter, including...

design and save the template

add your content for each issue

preview and test each issue

schedule and send each issue.
You must have at least one subscriber to be able to send your newsletter. If you want to send an issue and have no subscribers yet, subscribe yourself using the form on your site. You'll then receive each issue you send out.
Click on Create/Send Newsletter to begin the process.
Add Subscribers to Newsletter Address List
Most of your subscriptions will come from the opt-in form you put on one or more of your site's pages. But you may want to add some addresses manually (e.g., you purchased some addresses from a reputable mailing list provider).
This tool allows you to add individual email addresses, or up to 500 addresses at one time, to your subscriber list. After adding the names to your list, you can customize the email message that these new subscribers will receive.
To ensure that you receive no complaints about spam, each person whose address you add to your list will receive a confirmation email, asking them to confirm the subscription by opting in to your list.
Export Newsletter Address List
Here you can export a list of email addresses and first names, in a comma separated value (CSV) text file.
Once you have the CSV file, you can open it in any spreadsheet or text application that accepts CSV files.
Tips
- Click on Export the Newsletter Address List.
- Save the file to your computer.

In the window that pops up, you may have the option to "Save this file to disk." (Other browsers -- e.g., Safari -- will begin the download immediately.)
In the next window, select where you want to store this document, and click Save.

It's a good idea to save this file to your desktop, so you will not have any difficulty finding it later.
Customize Thank You Pages
You can customize two Thank You pages...

the Subscription Thank You Web Page, which your subscribers will see immediately after subscribing.

the Confirmation Thank You Web Page, which they will see immediately after confirming their subscription by opting in.
Customization allows you to personalize the messages you offer your subscribers, and allows you to offer incentives for subscribing or confirming, such as a free e-book or podcast.
When you're done customizing both pages, remember to go to Page Manager, then click on MailOut Manager Pages and select edit. Customize the template itself for those two pages and the "traffic cop" page that displays links to each of your newsletter's back issues.
Change or Unsubscribe an Email Address
Each newsletter you send out allows your subscribers to unsubscribe automatically by clicking on a link. However, if someone contacts you personally, asking to be removed from your list, you can do that here.
You can also change an email address for a particular subscriber by entering the current/correct address.
Get MailOut Stats
You can't make improvements to your newsletter if you don't know what's happening every time you publish a new issue. This information, and more, is available in MailOut Stats. You'll find stats for...

Stats and Archives
This page provides statistics per issue of your newsletter, as well as a link to each issue to edit it (if you haven't published it yet).
Rename Your Newsletter(s)
You may decide at some point that you want to change your newsletter's name. There are a few reasons why you might want to do this.
- Click on Rename Your Newsletter.
- Type the new name of your newsletter in the text box.
- Click on Rename Your Newsletter.

You may decide that the name isn't grabbing the attention of your subscribers.
A low open rate (which you'll find in Get History and Archives) may require a new name to generate more interest from your subscribers.

You may have used a word in the name that triggers spam filtering, putting your newsletter into the junk folder of many subscribers.

You may discover a typo or other problem that needs fixing.

You may decide to change the focus of your newsletter, which may require changing its name.
