Select Link

Links are a critical part of all websites.

Internal links let your visitors move from page to page within your site, and to access media and other files.

Outbound links let your visitors travel to new sites, where they find additional valuable information.

Links also allow you to earn an income from affiliate companies, including SiteSell.

The Link Selector, which opened after you clicked on the Add Link button in a Text Block, Headline Block or Image Block, allows you to select an internal link (the default), an existing outbound link, a SiteSell Affiliate Program affiliate link, or a Content File (a media file, text file, etc., stored in Special File Manager) link.

And it allows you to add a new outbound link to your Link Library.

Select Link

Directions for Use
  • Click on My Pages to view all internal links (except draft pages, which will not appear here). If you have folders set up in Page Manager, click on a folder to view links there.

Or click on Link Library to view all outbound links.

Or click on Product Links to view all SiteSell Affiliate Program affiliate links.

Or click on Content Files to view all the Special File Manager media and support file links.
  • Use the filter tool to quickly hide the links you don't want.

Or view by Name or URL to help you find the link you want.

Or sort by A-z or Z-a to help you find the link you want. Or click on Last added.
  • Click on a link to select it.

If you selected a My Pages link, type or paste in an Anchor name (if desired). If you're linking to another part of the same page, do not select a page. Type or paste in an Anchor name only.
  • Click on the Add Selected... button.

You have four options when adding a link to your page...

  1. Select an internal link. Click on My Pages to view the URLs for every page of your site. Each URL has the file name and the Title you added in Page Information when you built the page.

You can also add an anchor name to the link (or enter only an anchor name to link to another part of the same page).

Note: Only published pages can be added as links. You cannot link to a draft page.

  2. Select an outbound link from the Link Library. Click on Link Library in the left column to view every outbound link in the library.

  3. Select a SiteSell Affiliate Program link. Click on Product Links to view the entire list of affiliate URLs. Each one already has your RR URL.

  4. Select a media or support file link from Special File Manager. Click on Content Files to view the entire list of files that are available to select from.

From the list of links, click on the one you want to add to the page. It will now have a dark gray background, which indicates that this is the currently selected link.

To make it easier to find the link you want, you can sort them by Name/URL (Name/Title for My Pages links), alphabetically (A-z or Z-a), or by the Last Added.

You can also use the "find as you type" filter. For example, if you can't think of the URL or the name you gave to an outbound link, but know it has a certain letter combination, you can enter that combo and the system will return only links with that letter combo.

To perform this search, click into the type of link you want to use (Link Library, My Pages, Product Links, Content Files), then type the letter combination into the text box to the right of the small magnifying glass.

If your letter combo is "che," type that into the box. All the links containing "che" will appear in the list. The letters you typed in will be highlighted in each URL.

As you continue to add letters, the number of links in the list will shrink.

When you have the link you want to add to the page, click on the Add Selected... button (the button wording is unique to each option).

Add Link

Directions for Use
  • Type or paste in a full URL, starting with https://.
  • Enter a descriptive name for this link.
  • Click Add This Link to Library and to Page.

The Add Link tool allows you to add new outbound links to your Link Library.

Why only outbound links? Because all internal links are created automatically for you by Solo Build It!, every time you build a new page. And all SiteSell Affiliate Program links already exist.

To add a new link to your Link Library, paste the full URL (beginning with "https://") from the other site and paste it into the Enter Link URL text box.

Then give the link a Descriptive Name that will help you recognize the link in the Select Link part of the selector (discussed above).
