Select Category
Categories are the basis for the related pages section on each of your site's pages.
You can adding existing pages to categories using the Related Pages Library. But for new pages, add the category to the Page Information overlay while you build the page.
You can create a new category from this overlay, which will then be added to the list of categories in the Related Pages Library, or select an existing category.
Create New Category
- Enter a name for the category you want to create.
- Click on Create New Category to add the new category to the Related Pages Library.
To relate a page to any others in your site using the Related Pages Block, that page must be in a category. And it must be in the same category as the pages you want to relate it to.
This option lets you create a new category in the Related Pages Library, right from Page Information.
To create your new category, simply type in the name you want to give the category.
After entering the name, click on the Create New Category button. If the category already exists, you'll see an error message advising you that the category name must be unique. Change the name and click the button again.
Select Category
- Click on a category to select it for this page.
- Click on Use Selected Category to assign the category to this page.
Here you can assign a page to an existing category, including one you may have just created.
Click on the category to select it. It will appear on a bar with a gray background. Click the Use Selected Category button to assign the page to that category.
You can change your mind in Page Information by clicking on the folder again. This will assign the page to the category you choose.
Related Pages Block Selector
This same overlay is used in the Related Pages Block itself, to change the related pages section's Category to a different Category.
The only difference is that the block's Select Category overlay has an option to Use This Page's Category (which was set in Page Information or in the Related Pages Library).
Uncheck the checkbox directly below the headline. This activates the picker, which allows you to create a new Category, or select an existing one, using the same steps as outlined above.
