Naturally, an important part of Form Build It! is the data you collect. And of course, it's not much use if you can't see or analyze the data. So...
That is where this section, Form Data, comes in.
Follow the instructions on the Search Form Data page to generate reports on any of the forms that you have built and put on your site. You can generate reports of the results in two formats...
Results Table -- this tabular reporting format is a line-by-line reporting of all data submitted by each visitor (one line per visitor).
Results Graph -- this graphic reporting format summarizes data in graphic format, making it easy for you to see "the big picture."
|
Note: You will not always be able to generate a Graph format. The kinds of data that can be graphed come from radio buttons, checkboxes, and drop-down menus -- these can be graphed because the options that are input by your visitor are limited to those pre-set by you. What kind of data cannot be graphed?... text that your visitor has to type into a box. |
The real magic comes from acting upon the data and/or feedback provided by your visitors. Once you have the report of your Results (in whichever format), act upon the information in it.
For example, if your form had asked for feedback about your product, improve it accordingly. If your form had requested demographic information, you might adjust the tone of your Web site or advertising to better meet "who your customer is" -- directly address the needs of the sort of people that your site attracts.
Forms are a powerful tool because of the data they collect. But data is useless if you do not convert that into knowledge, and if you do not act upon that knowledge.
Form Build It! provides those final, all-important analytical capabilities here.
