Quick Re-Upload It!
Use Quick Re-Upload It! (QRI!) when you are updating (fixing typos, global find-and-replaces of bits of text, color changes, etc.) and replacing several existing files. It lets you re-upload several pages (and/or their related image files, media files, support files and include files) directly to the SBI! database, bypassing the usual, multi-step Upload Your Own HTML process.
QRI! will not upload new files. You will receive an error message.
This tool is not for pages built via the block-by-block SBI! SiteBuilder.
Tips
- Click on the Browse button (Choose File if using Safari).
- Highlight the file you want to upload in the dialog box.
- Click on the Open button (Choose in Safari) in the dialog box.
- Click on the checkbox beside the file name to Update RSS/Blog It!
- Repeat the first four steps for each file you want to re-upload.
- Click on the Re-Upload It/Them! button.
- Review the list of files uploaded to confirm that all files were uploaded successfully.
- QRI! does not check your HTML. You are in charge. It also does not run Analyze It!. (Generally, really minor modifications have no bearing on the Search Engines.)
- If you use SBI!'s NavBar, Opt-in E-zine form or a Form Build It! form in your HTML, make sure that these special tags or code have not been modified before you upload. SBI! assumes that all is correct and does not check.
- When you upload images, media files, or support files, SBI! identifies the type of file and uploads it to the proper folder.
- Special Note for SBI! Includes Users: If you have added any new image, media or support files as part of your modifications, follow the Upload Your Own HTML procedure. Simply edit your page (click on the file name in Page Manager in Site Central, and choose Edit) and in Step 3, when prompted, upload the corresponding file(s) and build your page.
-
For RSS It! users: QRI! will recognize and update your RSS feed. Just check the box next to the HTML file that you're re-uploading. However, do not check the Update RSS/Blog It! checkbox if you are making minor changes to the page (ex., fixing a typo).
- If you use Firefox, you can add an extension called "dragdropupload," which will allow you to drag files from your folders directly to QRI!.
Best recommendation?
Quick Re-Upload It! is the right tool for small tweaks, such as a quick text change, or image adjustment, to existing files. However, if you added new elements, or did extensive revisions, use the Upload your Own HTML tool instead.
