The templates available here are for SBIers who want to upload their own pages using an SBI! template.
There are three ways to view the templates...
-
Icon View
-
Column View
-
Favorites View
Icon View and Column View
- Click on the Category that meets the needs of your Site Concept.
- Select Icon View or Column View.
- In Icon View, click on small, medium or large to preview the templates at various sizes. Then click on the star beneath one of the templates to add it to your Favorites, or click on download to download that template's files to your computer.
- In Column View, click on a Template to preview it. Then click on the star beneath one of the templates to add it to your Favorites, or click on download to download that template's files to your computer.
Icon View and Column View let you view all the templates available in each category.
Icon View
In Icon View (the default view), click on one of the category links. That category highlights in a light blue color. All the templates in that category display at the default medium size. To view them smaller, click on small. To view them one after the other, click on large.
If you like one of them, but aren't quite sure yet, click on the star just below the template. The star will go dark. This indicates that you've added it to your Favorites (see below).
If you've selected one for your design, click on the download link. The folder with all the files for that template will download to your computer.
Column View
Click on Column View to view a list of the templates in each category, plus a medium-large preview of the template.
The category will highlight in a light blue color, and the template number will highlight in a bluish-gray color.
If you like one of them, but aren't quite sure yet, click on the star just below the template. The star will go dark. This indicates that you've added it to your Favorites (see below).
If you've selected one for your L&F, click on the download link. The folder with all the files for that template will download to your computer.
Favorites View
- Select Favorites View.
- Click on small, medium or large to preview the templates at various sizes. Click on the dark star beneath one of the templates to remove it from your Favorites.
- Click on download to download that template's files to your computer.
As you worked your way through the templates, you may have added a star to one or more of them. Clicking on Favorites View will display each of the templates you starred. The templates display at the default medium size. To view them smaller, click on small. To view them one after the other, click on large.
If you decide that you don't like one of them, click on the dark star just below the template. The template will disappear from the list, as it is no longer one of your favorites.
Once you've narrowed your favorites down to the one for your L&F, click on the download link. The folder with all the files for that template will download to your computer.
The Template Files
Each folder is numbered (ex., 150 is the first High Tech template; 353 is the fourth Business & Finance template). When you download your selected template, the folder will be titled with its corresponding number. If you're not sure of the number, go to the Columns View and select your template. The number will highlight in the Template column.
That number is the name of the folder that will download to your computer. If you're not sure where the folder downloaded, do a search of your hard drive, entering the folder number as the search term (ex., 353).
The folder contains the following...
-
ReadMe.txt, which adds some details to the information contained in this help file.
-
demo.html, which is a sample of what your site looks like with sample navigation and sample paragraphs in place. Use it to finalize the design (changes to style.css). Once you're happy with it, start building your site with masterTemplate.html.
-
masterTemplate.html, which is the file you will use to write your Web pages. This file is the template for each page of your site. Make a copy before starting each new page, re-naming the file. The file contains minimal text that you should change as you start each new page. Replace the content of the Title, Meta Description and Meta Keyword tags with page-specific information. Finally, this file also contains 21 SBI! Includes tags (ex., ***z-navigation.shtml***), which you should keep in place, "as is."
Note: This file is best previewed with Quick Preview It! (accessible via Site Central in WebFTP), not with your HTML editor. It will render the SBI! includes properly, making the page "look right." More on this later.
-
An image-files folder, containing all the image files associated with the template you selected.
-
A media-files folder, which is empty. It's included here to complete the folder structure explained in the SBI! Integration Guidelines, which enables Quick Preview It! to work.
-
A support-files folder, which contains the style.css file, where you will make all the changes to your template's design.
-
21 SBI! Include files (file names all start with "z-"), to allow you to quickly make changes to multiple pages.
After Downloading
After you download your template, unzip it and review the ReadMe.txt file in the folder.

Close the Template Downloader if you're done with it (or download another design package if you're unsure of your final choice).
